THE PROBLEM OF CHURCH ATTENDANCE
Luke 14
1. God has made a great provision for the salvation of men's souls (v. 16)
-We are all naturally starving & ready to perish.
-We need salvation & forgiveness for our sins
2. We are taught the the way to salvation is broad and liberal (v.17)
-The invitation is just to "come." If man is not saved, it is not God's fault.
-God has provided everything you need to be saved
(John 7:37, Matthew 1:28, Isaiah 55:1)
3. Many who hear the Gospel invitation refuse to accept Him (v. 18)
-They make excuses
-They lack will & love of his presence
-The world's system causes people to reject God
-No excuse can justify rejection of God
4. There is an indifference about God and the Church.
-People don't see a need to go to church
-Momma and Daddy didn't go so they don't go
5. God thoroughly desires the salvation of all souls. (v.21)
-We must deal with the sinner as if he/she is about to commit suicide
-It takes strong measures to win people to Christ
-Do not compel by force, bribery, or financial profits
-We ought to compel the to come because of Jesus Christ
-Compel them with our love and compassion
